Evergreens 2026

On 8th August 2026, KGA’ s new committee with Mafalda Quadros, President, now at the helm, premiered its first event for the Evergreens this year at the Sky Lounge, Catholic Club. The response was good and they had the highest turnout in recent times.

The theme chosen was Lisboa, Portugal. The event was very well curated from start to finish. Beginning with the well-designed invite and the aesthetically decorated venue which transported us to Lisboa the moment we stepped in. We were seated in cosy groups – blue, green, yellow & red representing the various taluka’s of Goa- Salcette, Vasco, Bardez & Panjim.

After the welcome address by our President Mafalda, our very vivacious Natasha Dsouza compered the event with compassion and gentle humour. We began with the general knowledge quiz about Goa and Portugal. Many sought the help of Google Baba, but it was fun and we improved our knowledge. This was followed by a roasting & banter between the groups about which taluks of Goa was the best. There was a lot of camaradie and it ended on a happy note.

Then came the very interesting part – a talk by our very knowledgeable Fausto Cardoso on the journey of the Azulo Tiles, an integral part of our architectural heritage, all the way to Goa from Arabia via Spain & Portugal. This was followed by a drawing & colouring competition on Azulo Tiles. The creativity and bonding in the groups was amazing.

Finally, it was party time with foot tapping lively music by Fabian, as we danced, met old friends and made new ones while enjoying the great food and drink. It was heartening to see our youth give so much of their valuable time, bringing their youthful energy while guiding us through the dance moves and cheering us.

Alas, it was time to bid adieu to each other and we left with happy hearts, lovely prizes and take away souvenirs but most of all beautiful memories.

Our Heartfelt gratitude and God bless you all who put in your time and effort to make this first event a resounding success.

Obrigado! Viva KGA.
