Dear Members of the Karnataka Goan Association,
It is with great honour and humility that I write to you as the newly elected President of our beloved association.
First and foremost, I would like to express our sincere gratitude to our outgoing President, Mr. Valarian Fernandes, and his Managing Committee for their dedicated service, hard work and commitment to the association.
My heartfelt thanks to all our General Body members for placing your trust in me and electing me as President for the year 2026 - 27. Your vote of confidence means a lot and I assure you that I will do my best to live up to it.
I am truly grateful to my Managing Committee members who have come forward to serve. I am inspired by the commitment and dedication exhibited by this team, and our first event together was a great example of what we can achieve when we work as one. I assure you that we will strive to give you the best possible year, with activities that will not only bring us together as a community but also help us grow and keep our rich cultural heritage alive.
I look forward to seeing volunteers from across all age groups come forward with their thoughts, ideas and energy. Your involvement is invaluable in making this year a success. I also encourage each one of you to actively participate in our events. Your participation is integral to shaping the future of our association and ensuring that it continues with the same zest and passion, leaving a lasting legacy for generations to come.

Sorpotel, is a dish of Portuguese origin now commonly cooked in the coastal Konkan region of India, primarily Goa. The meat is first parboiled, then diced and sauteed before being cooked in a spicy and vinegary sauce.
